We've more than doubled our team over the last 12 months and expect to double in size again over the coming 18 months. We're a global team spanning both the US and NZ. Founded by gaming industry veterans, we solve challenges in the rapidly evolving landscape of America’s $45 billion gaming industry.

đŸ“±Our Flagship Product

You’ll be part of the team building the next evolution of our innovative, social-casino gaming platform which enables igaming operators in North America to provide customised and fun social-casino experiences to their players easily and quickly whilst adhering to our “do no harm” ethos. Currently we have over 10,000 monthly active users and see over $32million in game play each month.

🏆 This role

As a 2D game artist, you will be a core part of game production, working closely with our game developers, creating art assets and animation required for our many gambling games and products.

We’re doing great things at Ruby Play Network, with much of our work being focused on developing gambling products and social casino games. Given this, we ask that all applicants are comfortable with working on gambling products and services.

đŸ’» What You Will Do

This role includes tasks such as concept art, game assets, animations and UX/UI design. You will also be tackling visual communication / design challenges, using your knowledge and expertise to help provide solutions.

General day to day duties include storyboarding, simple concept sketching, production assets (in Illustrator and Photoshop) and working alongside developers to help with implementation.

You may also be required to occasionally create final and placeholder artwork as needed by the business for promotion of the business through web and marketing and other exciting projects/experiences/games within the wider Ruby Play Network

The required skills for your role include:

  • Proficient use of the Adobe Creative Suite (or comparable software) with a good understanding of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop in particular.
  • Creation of 2D production-level assets.
  • The ability to self-manage and prioritise your work.
  • Ability to give and receive candid feedback and critique and having great interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in delivering the best for your clients while meeting the needs of your team.
  • Have a commitment to whānaungatanga - enjoy working with teams made up of a diverse range of people and skill sets.
  • Good fundamentals and understanding of animation.
  • Ability to develop creative work from concepts through to final production with high standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a close team environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive and organised.
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail.

Additional skills and attributes that would be advantageous for this role:

  • A good understanding of gambling products and games such as slots, scratchies, card games, table games etc.
  • A Keen interest in the gaming industry, with a good knowledge and understanding of game design.
